Gabrielle WareTwitter is suspending about 1 million accounts a day. It told The Washington Post it's more than doubled the rate of suspensions since October.
In May and June, it suspended over 70 million accounts, and it’s reportedly set to do similar numbers in July.
The crackdown came after Twitter revealed it found thousands of fake accounts linked to Russian bots aiming to spread fake information about the 2016 presidential election.
Tweets included but weren't limited to those telling Hillary Clinton supporters invalid ways to vote and promotional posts for then-candidate Donald Trump.
Twitter announced last month it had "new processes for fighting malicious automation and spam." But now some users feel they've become casualties in the platform's war against misinformation. Many have complained about their accounts being suspended.
