North Korean state media reported Thursday that leader Kim Jong-un ordered preparations to begin for a second summit with President Donald Trump.

Kim reportedly gave the order after sitting down with one of his envoys, Kim Yong-Chol, who visited Washington, D.C. earlier this month. The envoy delivered a personal letter from President Trump to Kim.

KCNA reported that Kim was very satisfied with the letter and said that by working together, the U.S. and North Korea will "advance step by step" toward their shared goal of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Kim and President Trump made that denuclearization pledge during their first meeting, which took place in Singapore back in June. But later negotiations stalled somewhat over sanctions. North Korea wanted those sanctions lifted as a goodwill gesture, but the Trump administration's said it will only lift sanctions when North Korea completely denuclearizes.

The White House previously announced the two leaders' planned second summit will take place sometime in late February. Neither side has revealed where that meeting is going to be held, though Vietnam has reportedly been floated as a possible location.
