Meet The GOP Choice To Replace Chaffetz As House Oversight Chair

The South Carolina congressman who led the U.S. House's two-year investigation into the 2012 Benghazi terror attack will soon chair another committee.

The House GOP Steering Committee has selected Rep. Trey Gowdy to chair the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

Pending confirmation by the Republican conference, Gowdy will replace Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, who is resigning from Congress at the end of the month. 

Gowdy is a former prosecutor and currently serves on the oversight committee. He is serving his fourth term in the House.
